Tahoe Family Solutions Thrift Store is seeking an individual to organize and help pick up donated furniture for the TFS Thrift Store from throughout the North Tahoe Basin, using a TFS vehicle. They are to act as a representative of the organization in the community and  are responsible for conducting themselves in a polite and courteous manner in their interactions with TFS donors. Our ideal candidate has flexibility with their schedule and an ability to manage and move sometimes heavy furniture. MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to: clean driving record in the states of Nevada and California and a current NV or CA driver’s license. Weekend hours will be required and hours will vary between 10 and 15 per week. The contractor must be reliable and able to show up to work on time and as scheduled, and must be able to safely lift and carry 70 lbs and supervise a small crew. This is a contracted position at $30.00 per hour and the contractor is responsible for filing own IRS 1099 documents and returns. VITA Program

Tahoe Family Solutions is looking for volunteers to help with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program starting January 29, 2025 – April 25, 2025. Greeters are needed to assist clients with filling out the intake form and getting them ready to have their taxes prepared. Greeters must create an account through the IRS and complete training in Ethics and Intakes. These trainings are no more than an hour or two in length and easy to complete. The VITA program is held on Wednesday and Thursdays from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, and you can set your own schedule.

Homework Help Club

The Tahoe Family Solutions Homework Help Club is an educational program offered to Incline Elementary School students Monday through Thursday after school for 1.25 hours. HHC goal is to help students learn and complete their homework each day in addition to practicing their literacy skills. If this feels like a way you would like to support the youth of our Incline Village community, please reach out to Leslie Blunden via Email, for program volunteer information. Washoe County Schools requires a background check of all volunteers in their facilities. Schedules should work for you!

Tahoe Family Solutions Thrift Store Volunteer

The Tahoe Family Solutions Thrift Store is an important retail resource for our community as well as a key part of the funding for the TFS programs. Volunteers play a valuable role in the upkeep of the retail environment and the creation of displays. in addition, they assist staff in receiving, organizing and pricing donated items for the store. the store is open 7days a week and scheduling is flexible. We require 6-8 hours per month consistently for the volunteer to receive the benefit of 50% off any merchandise. Volunteers will be asked to fill out an application and sign in each shift.
