Lupe Tatengo

TFS Thrift Store Director
775-833-4414
Email Lupe

Lupe, a graduate of Incline High School, has lived in Lake Tahoe for 36 years and is the daughter of Carlos Tatengo, Incline’s own Sushi Chef. Originally interested in acting and modeling, Lupe attended classes for both, but learned that her natural shyness made her uncomfortable with those career paths. Using her local connections she pursued another option moving into retail at The Christmas Shop in Christmas Tree Village where she worked as a sales representative for 7 years. Recognizing her talent in retail sales, Amy, the then TFS Thrift Store Manager, welcomed Lupe to the organization in 2017 placing her in charge of receiving and pricing donations. Following a steep learning curve, Lupe was promoted into the Manager position 2 years later, allowing her to shine and demonstrate her skills in making sales, and in organization and boutique-like displays in the store. Lupe loves interacting with the customers, including the many Spanish speaking patrons who visit. Her bilingual skills help her welcome all of our visitors with equal attention and care. Lupe has created a store that customers love through her attention to detail and design, and her dedication to the sales team and volunteers who make it run. She shares that she is grateful for the opportunity to constantly be learning and to be a part of a great team. Lupe is also the mother to three kids, including a son scheduled to graduate from Incline High School in 2025! In her spare time she is a regular volunteer in other community organizations.
