Reading With Your Littles

Children begin the process of acquiring language from the moment they are born. Introducing children to learning new words, reading, and repetitive songs at an early age helps create a stable foundation where more complex learning and thinking can thrive.

TFS’s Reading With Your Littles program creates a safe space where children ages 18 months to 3 years can start their learning journey. Children and their parents or caretakers explore culturally and age-appropriate activities and books while taking part in group projects, story times, and other activities. Led by TFS staff, the bilingual program equips both children and parents or caregivers for the transition to public pre-K and kindergarten classrooms and helps set expectations and routines little ones often struggle with when starting their formal education.
